The company, located in the heart of the Valgrande cru in Treiso, was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Valentino Grasso, grandfather of the current owners, but, as often happened in many wineries in the Barbaresco production area, it was only in the 1970s that they began to bottle the wine produced from their own grapes. Brothers Luigi and Alfredo Grasso, who now run the company, assisted by their sister Maria, represent the third generation of a family of winemakers who have always adopted a very traditional approach to winemaking.
